There are many rumours that hit the web, but the best yet is the Apple HDTV 2012. It looks like, and of course if sources are right, Apple is already building a prototype. If this is the case and true then we can see this being an Apple Television, iCloud and iPhone 4S love affair.

According to Apple Insider, they report that sources suggest that the new Apple-built Television may launch late 2012; we really love this idea because the marriage between Apple devices is fantastic.

Just say Apple do release the new Apple HDTV late 2012, sources say that Apple is investing in manufacturing facilities and securing supply for LCD displays, apparently screen sizes of up to 50-inches are on the cards, if this is the case then that is a most definite answer that the HDTV for Apple is coming.

The new iPhone 4S with Siri voice control, and the new Apple iCloud setup, this will bring a whole new interactivity between user and Apple products, just imagine talking to Siri on your iPhone 4S and the next-gen iPhone 5 to send commands to your TV, and everything you do on the TV is stored in the cloud.

This is just the beginning of true hi-tech in your front room, turn the Apple HDTV 50-inch on and then open Siri on your iPhone 4S, ask Siri a question like “Siri, Please find Fast Five movie title”, then Siri connects with your Apple HDTV and does exactly that.

Please do let us know what you think oif this idea, if you have any other ideas about Apple devices talking with the new Apple-built HDTV, please let us know what they are.

Apple iPad 2 Smart Cover Gains Colour Refresh » Phone Reviews All NewsiPhoneBlackBerryAndroidHTCLGMotorolaSamsungSony EricssonNokiaVideo   Add Mark Chubb (Phones Review CEO) to your Circles on Google+Apple iPad 2 Smart Cover Gains Colour RefreshUnder: Accessories
Date: October 24th, 2011

Phones Review Quickie: If you are the proud owner of an Apple iPad 2 and use an Apple Smart Cover you might like to know that Apple has now updated their iPad 2 Smart Cover offerings with more vibrant colours and dumping that orange hue polyurethane cover once and for all whilst replacing it with a more subdued dark grey offering.

According to the guys over at MacRumors, aside from ditching that nasty old orange flavour, Apple has introduced matching internal colours for all Smart Covers whereas previously the inside of the cover was always grey no matter which outward colour you opted for, so now the screen facing colour will match the external colour.

Polyurethane Smart Covers will now become available in blue, pink, green, light and dark grey and each will be more vibrant, whilst with the navy coloured leather version, apparently Apple has “tweaked” the colour to be “more navy” in appearance, although the navy is the only colour in the leather Smart Cover range to see the tweak.

Probably the best thing about this update to the Apple Smart Cover is that all pricing remains unchanged so a polyurethane covers still costs 39 bucks and a leather covers costs 69 bucks. Apparently Apple’s Smart Cover page does not yet reflect the changes whilst Apple store pages do.

Although Apple has refreshed the colours of the Smart Cover for the Apple iPad 2, one would have thought their time would have been better spent resolving the security issues with the Smart Cover for the iPad 2 as my colleague Mark reported on previously, wouldn’t you agree?

iPhone 4S Accessories: 24kt Gold Plate and Crystals Bumper » Phone Reviews All NewsiPhoneBlackBerryAndroidHTCLGMotorolaSamsungSony EricssonNokiaVideo   Add Mark Chubb (Phones Review CEO) to your Circles on Google+iPhone 4S Accessories: 24kt Gold Plate and Crystals BumperUnder: Accessories
Date: October 24th, 2011

When the iPhone 4 was first released the iOS faithful had to use the Apple Bumper case to get round the antenna issues the iPhone 4 had, with the release of the iPhone 4S you probably don’t require a Bumper, however some of you may have grown fond of having a Bumper on your iOS smartphone so if you fancy one for your iPhone 4S we have one for your consideration.

According to Chip Chick there’s a new Bumper for the iPhone 4S available from Crystal Rocked that might catch your eye and also have fellow iPhone 4S users somewhat jealous as this iPhone 4S adds a touch of gold and sparkle to your device.

The iPhone 4S Bumper is 24kt gold plated and set with sparkling crystals to give your new iPhone a touch of class. Each bumper had been dipped 4 times into 24kt gold to “ensure thickness,” and then 200 individual crystals inlaid into the bumper adding that bling to your device.

Now here comes the rub, if you want a 24kt gold plated and crystal Bumper for your iPhone 4S or iPhone 4 it will set you back a rather hefty £299, which is roughly $414, although if you would prefer a cheaper option there is a chrome with crystals version that comes in a little cheaper at 249 quid, about 395 bucks.

Apparently both the gold plate and chrome versions are lightweight and easy to install on your iPhone and can only be purchased online or by taking a trip to the one and only Harrods in London.

So does the idea of having a gold plated with crystals bumper or chrome with crystals bumper on your iPhone 4S appeal to you?

News on the Sony Ericsson Xperia

Sony Ericsson Targets Xperia Fan Websites » Phone Reviews All NewsiPhoneBlackBerryAndroidHTCLGMotorolaSamsungSony EricssonNokiaVideo   Add Mark Chubb (Phones Review CEO) to your Circles on Google+Sony Ericsson Targets Xperia Fan WebsitesUnder: Phone Business & Stocks, Sony Ericsson
Date: October 24th, 2011

Well now it would appear that Sony Ericsson doesn’t think too much of fans of their Xepria range of devices especially when it come to fan sites using their trademarked name “Xperia” in their website title and is prepared to take legal action so that the fan sites don’t use it, and has resulted in the closing of one fan site called Xperiablog, net, and basically slapping the fan community firmly in the face.

According to the guys over at Phone Arena, Sony Ericsson came down hard on Xperiablog.net demanding the fan site transfer their domain over to Sony Ericsson along with another Xperia fan site domain, XperiaX10.net.

Xperiablog.net, obviously doesn’t have the legal muscle or finances to fight the might of Sony Ericssson and has thus been forced to shut down, with a final word from the fan site…

”We do not have the resources to fight Sony Ericsson on this and therefore this is the last you will hear from us. Sony Ericsson has made great strides in its Xperia portfolio, especially in listening to the community. This makes it all the more confusing as to why Sony Ericsson would want to shut us down. We genuinely believe that 2012 could be a bumper year for the company, we just wish we could have been there along for the ride.”

Obviously Sony Ericsson owns the Xperia name and trademark, and has the legal right to defend that name, one would have thought that when it comes to fan sites the company would have more foresight and be somewhat lenient after all a fan site does provide free advertising of their products and gets the word out there to fans.

This move if picked up by other companies could have a disastrous effect on the blogsphere when you consider how many sites use the likes of Nokia, iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and such in their names, and all open to the same treatment that Sony Ericsson has handed out if they wished.

Do you think Sony Ericsson has been over zealous in protecting the Xperia name by closing down these fan sites?

News on Motorola Droid Razr

Droid RAZR AT&T Unlocked and up for pre-order » Phone Reviews All NewsiPhoneBlackBerryAndroidHTCLGMotorolaSamsungSony EricssonNokiaVideo   Add Mark Chubb (Phones Review CEO) to your Circles on Google+Droid RAZR AT&T Unlocked and up for pre-orderUnder: Google Android, Mobile Phones, Motorola
Date: October 24th, 2011

As you probably know the latest Android beast of a smartphone from the Motorola camp and the latest addition to the Droid family of handsets and sporting the famous RAZR name is the new Motorola Droid RAZR, and the word is the Motorola Droid RAZR will be hitting the Big Red at some point commanding a price tag of $300, but if you don’t wish to go with Verizon for the Droid RAZR there is another option.

According to the guys over at Ubergizmo, the Motorola Droid RAZR sound be coming to AT&T at some stage, but if you want to grab the Android smartphone as an unlocked handset on AT&T the guys over at Mobile City Online have the device up for pre-order.

Apparently the unlocked Motorola Droid RAZR is a GSM version although it does tout GSM and WCDMA bands, although if you do prefer the unlocked Droid RAZR the device will hit your pocket for a hefty $599.99.

Specs for the Motorola Droid RAZR are, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced qHD Gorilla glass touch screen, 8 megapixel rear facing camera, HD front facing camera, 1080p video, Bluetooth 4.0, 1.2GHz dual core processor, Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS, 4G LTE connectivity, 1GB RAM, 32GB memory made up of 16GB internal and 16GB preinstalled microSD card.

If you are still sitting on the fence with the Motorola Droid RAZR, we posted a quick hand-on video previously, which you can check out by hitting up (here).

I figure the thing is if you really don’t wish to commit to the usual two-year contract then perhaps 600 bucks isn’t too high a price to shell out, although if you don’t mind that commitment you could hold off to see what AT&T offers the Droid RAZR for on contract.

Are you waiting to get your hands on the Motorola Droid RAZR, if so will you be opting for a contract or unlocked model? Feel free to let us know by dropping us a comment below.

Sprint Details Mobile Broadband Changes Rolling Out in November

By Humberto Saabedra on October 21, 2011

Sprint logoSprint has taken to updating its dedicated support site to detail its forthcoming changes to its mobile broadband add-on plans and mobile hotspot changes. These changes were previously confirmed in internal employee documentation, but today’s update goes into further detail regarding changes to 3G/4G service per month, broken down with a chart found at the continue reading link.

Starting with the 3GB add-on in November, 3G and 4G access will be pooled together in the same monthly allowance while unlimited 4G access will be done away with completely. A new $.05/MB overage rate will also be put into place for every MB over the initial monthly allotment, whether it be 3, 5 or 10GB of data access per month. Data roaming rates for mobile broadband will remain the same. These new changes mean that 3G/4G tablets are now subject to the same changes as smartphones were placed under at the beginning of the month.

While these changes will affect all mobile hotspot access and mobile broadband cards, Sprint customers have also raised concerns about data speeds following the launch of the iPhone 4 and 4S, as data performance has significantly degraded since then. Reports have surfaced of data speeds on EVDO Rev. A not exceeding 50kbps and instability with data speeds leading to poor performance with applications and services such as YouTube, mirroring issues with Virgin Mobile following the introduction of the Beyond Talk plans.
